Individual Psychotherapy

I offer individual therapy for youth and adults that is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person's story. My approach is informed by psychodynamic and attachment-based principles, with a strong foundation in developmental trauma and polyvagal theory. This means I pay close attention to how early relationships and nervous system patterns shape how we experience ourselves, others, and the world around us. In our work together, we’ll explore not just what’s going wrong, but why it makes sense viewing symptoms like anxiety, emotional dysregulation, or patterns in relationships as survival strategies that once served a purpose. I strive to create a space that feels safe enough to slow down, tune in, and make sense of your experiences with care and without judgment. For those needing practical tools to manage distress in the here and now, I also draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), offering skills for emotion regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Pain Reprocessing Therapy

Pain is meant to be a helpful signal, your body’s way of protecting you from harm. But sometimes, that signal gets stuck in overdrive. Neuroplastic pain isn’t caused by physical injury or damage; it happens when the brain misinterprets safe bodily sensations as threats. Over time, this mistaken danger signal becomes reinforced, making pain feel constant and unrelenting even when there’s no actual danger. The good news? Just as your brain learned pain, it can unlearn it. Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) helps retrain your brain to interpret pain signals accurately, reducing fear and breaking the cycle of chronic pain. It works by weakening the connections between pain and fear while strengthening new associations with safety, calm, and ease. Like any other skill, your brain can get better at emotional states with practice. By shifting focus away from fear and toward feelings of safety and relief, you can rewire your brain and deactivate pain over time.

Parent Support and Coaching

Raising a teenager can feel like a rollercoaster...one moment things are calm, and the next you're walking on eggshells, unsure what might trigger the next outburst or shutdown. You may find yourself repeating the same instructions over and over, only to be met with eye rolls, silence, or slammed doors. Maybe you're exhausted from power struggles, feeling disconnected from your teen, or questioning whether you're doing anything right at all. You're not alone—and you’re not failing. I help parents navigate the challenges of adolescence with more clarity, connection, and confidence. My approach is grounded in attachment theory, developmental trauma, and polyvagal-informed practice. I will help you make sense of your teen’s behaviors through a nervous system lens, seeing them not as disrespectful or defiant, but often as overwhelmed, stressed, or dysregulated. We’ll work together to: reduce conflict and power struggles; strengthen communication and emotional connection; support your teen’s emotional development and resilience; stay calm and grounded, even in tough moments; and respond with clarity and care without losing your cool. I also integrate practical, evidence-based tools from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you support your teen and yourself. Whether your teen is struggling with anxiety, mood swings, impulsivity, or just pulling away in ways that worry you, parent coaching can help you feel less reactive, more effective, and more deeply connected to your child. Even if it feels hard right now, it’s possible to shift the dynamic and to feel more supported as a parent along the way.

Post-Separation and Divorce

Support for Parents: Separation and divorce can be some of the most emotionally taxing transitions a family faces especially when children are involved. Between navigating the legal system, managing co-parenting dynamics, and dealing with your own grief or stress, it can feel overwhelming to also stay attuned to your child’s emotional needs. But this is exactly when they need your steadiness the most. With extensive experience working with high-conflict families, I support parents in keeping their children at the heart of the process. This means helping you respond thoughtfully rather than reactively, even in the face of conflict, and equipping you with tools to reduce stress, improve communication, and make decisions that support your child’s emotional well-being. My approach is grounded in developmental and attachment-based principles. I help parents understand how separation and conflict can impact their child’s nervous system and sense of safety and how to buffer those effects by showing up with consistency, emotional attunement, and respectful co-parenting strategies. Support for Youth: Separation and divorce can be incredibly hard on children and teens. While every child experiences these changes differently, many struggle with big feelings, confusion, or behaviors that signal they’re not sure how to cope. I can offer a calm, supportive space where young people can make sense of what’s going on in their world by exploring their emotions, processing difficult experiences, and building coping skills. Therapy is a confidential and therapeutic relationship that prioritizes your child’s emotional safety and helps reduce behavioral and emotional challenges that may be getting in the way of their everyday functioning.
